THE regular series of piano recitals at Kirkleatham is coming to an end after 15 years.
The final performance will feature Australian Stefan Cassomenos, who is principal pianist with the Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and a well established composer.
“We are really pleased that a pianist of such international importance has agreed to star in our final piano recital,” said concert organiser Peter Sotheran. “For many years we have been the only classical music venue between Middlesbrough and the Whitby area. This will be a fitting end to the piano recitals.”
His programme includes music by Haydn, Prokofiev, Messiaen and Schubert a modern work by Carl Vine.
The concert takes place on Thursday, May 8 at 7.30pm at Sir William Turner's Almshouses in Kirkleatham near Redcar.
Tickets priced £12.50 are available from 01642-477200 with a credit card, or leave a message on 01642-482828 to reserve tickets to collect at the door.
