Chef show: Leading Yorkshire chef Stephanie Moon will be visit Bedale High School on May 13 to demonstrate some traditional French and Yorkshire foods to the school’s catering students. The visit is part of a new project celebrating the Yorkshire stages of the Tour de France.

Garden judge: Big Allotment Challenge judge Jim Buttress will be making guest appearances at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show on Thursday, April 24. Among other things he will give visitors a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the new BBC gardening series.

Cancer cash: The Romanby Tuesday art Group has presented £435 to the Friarage Breast Cancer Support Group on Northallerton. The cancer group also raised more than £273 through their “Pink Stall” in the town hall earlier this month.

Metal skills: Renowned architectural metalwork Chris Topp, from Tholthorpe near Easingwold, is to give the next talk to Ripon Civic Society, on May 1 at 7.30 pm at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall. There is a charge of £3 for anyone who is not a Civic Society member.
