AN army of volunteer litter pickers is expected to descend on a Redcar beach, next week, as part of this year’s national Big Beach Clean Up.

The Marine Conservation Society event is being hosted by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am, on Friday, April 25.

Anyone who wants to take part should meet at the Majuba Road car park, at 9.15am, wearing sturdy footwear and dressed appropriately for the weather.

Big Beach Clean Up volunteers will receive a £5 Marks and Spencer voucher which is valid on a shop of £30 or more.

FIRE COURSE: Cleveland Fire Brigade’s Prince’s Trust Team Programme has a new course starting on Tuesday, May 6 and is looking for prospective young people who want to gain skills and work experience. The free, 12-week personal development course is open to 16-25 year olds living in the Redcar and east Cleveland area.
