POLICE are trying to trace the owner of motorbike which collided with a car in Hartlepool after the rider left the scene of the incident.

The green Kawasaki collided with a red Vauxhall Astra estate on Owton Manor Lane, Hartlepool at about 1.15pm on Thursday afternoon.

A passing motorist took the injured rider to hospital for treatment but Cleveland Police are wanting to speak to the owner of the motorbike.

A spokeswoman said: “The driver who took the injured motorcyclist to hospital has come forward to speak to us and he was not involved in the incident. We are now trying to trace the owner of the motorbike.”

Anyone with information about the collision or the owner of the motorbike should call Cleveland Police on 101.
