A1 CRASH: Six vehicles have been involved in a crash on the A1 northbound carriageway after noon today, between Junction 51 and Marne Barrack, Catterick, around 15 miles from Scotch Corner.

North Yorkshire Police said no one had been hurt in the shunt collision, apart from one woman who had injured her arm, but it was not serious.

Most vehicles are believed to be able to drive away from the accident, and one lane remains open on the carriageway.

A recovery truck is at the scene to take one of the vehicles away and the road is expected to be clear soon.
