A LOCAL poet and singer will be performing at a celebration of reading in Middlesbrough.
The World Book Night event, which will take place in Baker Street Kitchen, will see Mark Robinson performing poetry from his latest book, How I learned to Sing.
The evening, organized jointly by Middlesbrough’s library service and Teesside University, takes place on Wednesday, April 23 between 7pm and 9pm.
The poet, who is also interim Director of mima said: “My book, in part, from my life as a reader, so I'll be talking about that and some of the writers that have been important to me and my poetry.”
After the reading local folk singer-songwriter, Sara Dennis, will also be performing.
Those attending will be able to choose from twenty new books provided by the event’s sponsor, The Reading Agency as well as books donated by 46,000 volunteers.
People wanting to attend the free event should go to the Baker Street Kitchen, which can be found on the corner of Baker Street and Albert Road.
