ADAM BATLEY, from Darlington, is preparing to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Sara’s Hope Foundation, which provides respite for young cancer sufferers and their families.
Mr Batley aims to complete a 25-mile circuit of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, on May 17, within 12 hours.

FLOWER CLUB: Darlington Flower Club raised £1,370 towards an X-Ray machine for breast cancer sufferers at its recent ‘spring fling’ event, at Headlam Hall. Members of the club will be promoting flower arranging at Sainsbury’s supermarket in Victoria Road, Darlington, on May 2. They will be making flower arrangements for sale and all profits raised will be donated to Darlington Women’s Refuge. The next meeting of the club will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 2pm in St Cuthbert’s Church Hall.
