A CHARITY choir performance has raised £1,000 in memory of a talented teenage singer and songwriter lost her battle with cancer last year.

Cash raised by Marske Fisherman’s Choir will be split between Georgina Anderson’s favourite charities - the Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The Marske teenager became an internet sensation when she uploaded a self-penned song two Thirds of a Piece onto YouTube as well as a cover version of Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me while she was fighting liver cancer.

Her father, Paul said: “The choir try and donate as much money from their performances as they can each year. They told me that this year was the easiest decision they have had to make.

“It wasn’t until after I started speaking to the choir, it turned out a lot of them actually knew our family, and Georgina, as she used to help my parents Keith and Betty when they organised the British Theatre for the Disabled at the Cheshire Home at Marske Hall.

“That made the decision even easier for them.”

More than £40,000 has been raised since the teenager died last November.
