TRIM THEFT: Four wheel trims were stolen from a Ford Transit van in Mount Pleasant, Cockfield, in the early evening of Friday, March 28. Police are appealing for information and also want to hear from anyone who may have been offered them for sale. Anyone with information should contact Barnard Castle police on 101.

BEETLE DRIVE: An evening of prize bingo plus a beetle drive, raffle and tombola will be held in Escomb Village Hall on Saturday, April 12, 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Admission is £3 and all money raised will go to Escomb Saxon Church funds. Tickets are available in advance from any church member or at the door on the night.

FUN DAY: The Ark on the Edge animal sanctuary, at Woodland, Teesdale, is holding an Easter Fun Day on Sunday, April 20, 11am to 3pm. Among the activities will be an Easter Egg hunt, Easter bonnet competition, decorated egg contest, quiz, hook-a-duck and balloon race.
