POLICE hunting thieves who broke into a bakery have released CCTV images of two men they are trying to trace.

Officers have released the images as part of their investigation into a break-in at the Cornish Bakery on Colliergate, York, on February 18.

The thieves broke in sometime between 5.50am and 6am and stole a safe containing a quantity of cash.

Inquiries have established the suspects were loitering outside the shop earlier and that two cars and a bicycle passed the scene. Officers believe that the occupants of the vehicles and the cyclist may have information vital to their investigation.

Anyone who can help identify the suspects should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for York CID.

Alternatively, information can be emailed to YorkCID@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800-555-111.
