Updated 12:42pm Sunday 30th March 2014 in News
A NEW exhibition looking at the railway heritage of the North-East through textiles is set to open at Darlington’s Head of Steam Railway Museum.
Freepass by artist Catherine Howard will go on display to the public at the North Road based museum on Tuesday, April 8, and will be available to view until July.
The exhibition looks at railway heritage and the journeys made on the railways from Darlington to destinations around the UK.
Featuring ten years of Ms Howard’s work, the exhibition also remembers her father, whose first job was at the North Road Works where he worked as a fitter.
Ms Howard said: “The museum’s support in this exhibition has been invaluable and without it the exhibition would not be able to take place.”
A series of talks, workshops and events will accompany the exhibition. Entrance fee applies and booking is essential for workshops. Contact the museum at 01325-460532 or email email@example.com
