FOOTBALL players who are keen to develop their coaching skills are being invited to sign up for a course in Hartlepool.

The Borough Council’s Sport and Recreation Service has teamed up with Durham County FA to stage the FA Level 1 Award in Coaching Football course.

It is open to both males and females over the age of 16 and will take place at Grayfields pavilion in Jesmond Gardens from April 23 to May 21. It will comprise nine three-hour sessions.

The course costs £120, although FA Charter Standard clubs that are affiliated to Durham County FA can access it for just £50. Applications from FA Charter Standard clubs must be co-signed by the club secretary.

DUATHLON ENTRY: The Tees Valley’s fastest growing event will return to Stockton Town Centre for its second year on Sunday, April 27. Duathlon participants will have the opportunity compete in the energetic town centre race next month. Anyone interested in taking part will be able to advantage of discounted entry rates until the end of March. Entry fees will then increase by £5 on Sunday (March 30) and £10 on April 13.
