A JACOBEAN hall is preparing to welcome visitors back for the spring and summer season from Sunday, April 6.
Kiplin Hall, between Scorton and Northallerton, is the former home of Victorian Admiral Sir Cecil Carpenter and remains much as it was when he lived there with his family.
Last year, the hall won three awards and it has been highly commended for its restoration work of the walled garden.
The gardens, woodland and lakeside walks, play ship and tea room are open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 5pm.
The hall re-opens on Sunday, April 6, and is open from 2pm to 5pm on the same days as the gardens and tea room, until October 30.
Duty Calls – Kiplin Hall in Times of War, which commemorates the role of the hall, its owners, and local communities in wars from the Civil War to the Second World War, continues this year with an exhibition, which is included in admission to the hall.
