Kew Gardens could inspire Middlesbrough park
ROYAL Botanic Gardens Kew could help Stewart Park in Middlesbrough create its own wildflower habitat.
A submission has been made to the iconic beauty spot in London for a ‘grow wild’ project involving local communities and funded by the Big Lottery.
Secondary schools and academies, Middlesbrough Environment City, Askham Bryan College, Myplace and the Friends of Stewart Park are supporting Middlesbrough Council’s application.
If it is successful, the next stage will be a public vote across the Tees Valley region. The winning national site will receive £120,000 and runners-up will get £7,000 to implement local environmental improvements.
