A RECOVERING addict has been placed on a drug rehabilitation order after stealing a razor and cheese from a Darlington shop.
Barbara Taylor, 35, of Conyers Terrace, Ferryhill, appeared before Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, March 25) and admitted stealing the items worth £11.99 from Home Bargains on March 10.
The court heard she was on a methadone treatment programme and had moved from Darlington to Ferryhill to make a fresh start following the theft.
After hearing that Taylor was already on a 12-month supervision order, magistrates imposed a five-month drug rehabilitation order to run alongside her existing sentence.
She was also ordered to pay £11.99 compensation and £40 court costs.
