A THEATRE company is appealing for musicians to join a band to play live as part of a community play in July.

North Country Theatre, based in Richmond, is staging Blame it on Bartle this summer, and music director Dave Harris will be holding open auditions at the Richmond Georgian Theatre Royal on Wednesday, April 2 from 7pm to 9pm.

Mr Harris said: “We are looking for community musicians who would welcome the opportunity to perform as part of this large-scale outdoor theatre production.

“We would be particularly interested to meet fiddle, accordion and double bass players but all instrumentalists are welcome. The session will be informal and friendly and will involve group ensemble playing.”

Blame it on Bartle, written by Nobby Dimon, will involve more than 40 performers from Swaledale, Wensleydale and Gudbrandsdalen in Norway, alongside professional actors from North Country Theatre.

Interested musicians can just turn up on Wednesday, April 2 or can find out more by contacting office@northcountrytheatre.com or at www.northcountrytheatre.com.
