TIME is running out for Richmondshire residents to nominate their unsung heroes for an award.

The district council’s Making a Difference in Richmondshire awards take place next month – with prizes for individuals and businesses that have made a real difference to the area up for grabs.

But individuals, groups or organisations have until Friday (March 28) to make a nomination.

Awards will be presented in eight categories: young person of the year; volunteer of the year; carer of the year; community group or initiative of the year; sustainable project of the year; green project of the year; parish council project of the year; and business of the year.

Any individual, group or organisation can make a nomination. Forms are available at www.richmondshire.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/madira or any district council community office, in Leyburn, Colburn, Reeth and Hawes. Alternatively contact Sarah Jenkins, democratic services officer, on 01748-901016.
