A COUNCIL’S tips will be open longer for the summer.
Durham County Council’s household waste recycling centres will adopt extended hours from Tuesday, April 1.
The following sites will be open daily from 9am to 6pm: Morrison Busty Industrial Estate, Annfield Plain; Potterhouse Lane, Pity Me; Tudhoe Industrial Estate, Tudhoe; Strangford Road, Seaham; Heighington Lane, Newton Aycliffe; Romanway Industrial Estate, Bishop Auckland; and the highways depot, Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Three sites will be open daily except Friday, from 10am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 6pm on weekends and bank holidays: Thornley Crossings Industrial Estate, Thornley; Coxhoe quarry, Coxhoe; and Sunderland Road, Peterlee.
Two sites will be open on weekends and bank holidays from 9am to 6pm: Hett Hills, near Chester-le-Street; and Stainton Grove, near Barnard Castle.
