POLICE are investigating after a van belonging to a home that cares for disabled adults was damaged in Darlington.

The grey Renault van, which belongs to Lindisfarne Court residential care home, was damaged while parked in Fryer Crescent, at 12.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number DJ1401799. 50pm on Saturday (March 22).

A spokesman for Darlington police said: “The person responsible was with a group of friends and was possibly heading to the Shuttle and Loom pub.

“He is described as a white male with light hair, aged between 16 and 20, and wearing a navy jumper which had a speckled pattern on it.

“The vehicle is crucial to the residents at Lindisfarne Court, which is a residential home for adults with learning and physical disabilities.

“As a result of this senseless action, the van has had to be taken off the road until it can be repaired.

“Whoever is responsible has had a great impact upon the day to day lives of vulnerable people.”
