BRITPOP band Space will headline one of eight stages at Stockton Calling, a music festival featuring 70 acts in one day.

The ‘Female of the Species’ hit makers, who came to prominence in the mid-90s, are performing at Ku bar on Saturday, April 19.

Other highlights include Young Rebel Set and Little Comets at Arc arts centre and Public Service Broadcasting taking to the stage at The Georgian Theatre.

Tickets costing £15 in advance are available from the Arc box office, Green Dragon Studios and the Storytellers pub.

NEW SHOP: Mini Munchkins children’s boutique and the Pottery Pen is opening its door for the first time on Saturday, March 22, at 29 Silver Street in Stockton. There will be children’s pottery painting, refreshments, face painting and balloon modelling and the chance to meet ‘Peppa Pig’ from 10am to 3pm.

JOINT CHOIR: Hartlepool Male Voice Choir and Hartlepool Ladies’ Choir will be performing together again in a ‘Choral Spectacular’ in the town’s Borough Hall on Saturday, April 26, at 7.30pm. The money raised will go towards the Mayor of Hartlepool Councillor Stephen Akers-Belcher’s Charity Fund in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, the Pansies Breast Cancer Support Group and the Denise Taylor Cancer Trust.
