SPRING THING: The annual Spring Thing Folk event in Darlington will continue this weekend with concerts and musical activities taking place at the following times and locations: Saturday, March 22: Headline festival concert featuring John Tams and Barry Coope, Flossie Malavialle and Loose Connection at Central Hall, in the Dolphin Centre. Entry from 7.30pm, tickets £15 on the door. Sunday, March 23: a day of events at the Dolphin Centre, including a singer/songwriter competition, dancing, music sessions, a craft fair, guitar and banjo workshops and singarounds. EASTER FAYRE: The Friends of Rise Carr College will host an Easter Fayre on Saturday, April 5, between 10am and noon. Proceeds from the event will go to the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Prizes for a raffle have been donated by local retailers and small businesses will be selling home-made produce, alongside items made by students at the college, on Eldon Street, Darlington. Children are invited to bring along a decorated egg and enter the Easter egg competition - with a prize for the best egg. Entry is free. UNION SUPPORT: Darlington Trades Council will support the TUC Fair Pay campaign with a stall on Darlington’s High Row on Saturday, April 5, between noon and 2pm. Information on a number of the unions available to workers will be available.
