TWO teenagers attacked a man in the street when they tried to steal the contents of his rucksack.

The 43-year-old victim needed hospital treatment for an ear injury after the incident on Colliergate, York, at about 5.30pm on Wednesday, March 19.

They assaults him after demanding the contents of his rucksack but he refused and managed to get away from the scene.

PC Gareth Vaughan of York Police said: "Due to the fact this incident happened in broad daylight in a busy area of the city, it is believed a number of people may have seen what happened."
