FIVE outbuildings were broken into in a sudden spate of burglaries in just one night in the same North Yorkshire village.
Overnight on March 6 barns and other outbuildings of properties on Railway Street in Slingsby, near Malton, were broken into – and another property nearby was damaged after intruders entered the garden.
However, while the thieves did manage to steal an Orange Husk chainsaw from one of the premises nothing else was taken.
Now police are urging anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the village, either on the evening of the burglaries or in the days leading up to them, to contact them.
PC Gemma Thwaites said: “This spate of break-ins has caused a lot of concern in the village and we are doing all we can to find those responsible.”
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Gemma Thwaites or email gemma.thwaites@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk . Alternatively pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
