A FLOWER lover has opened up her garden to raise money for charity after her life was transformed by a new drug.

Valda Walker will be welcoming people into her garden on occasions this month in aid of The Migraine Trust.

The keen gardener changed her medication in 1991 to treat her condition and has never looked back since.

She said: “It has been quite a busy first day but with the nice weather I would have hoped for more people to come. I have sold lots of plants, tea and cakes so it has been a successful day.

“It is very rewarding supporting The Migraine Trust because it is a little known charity but it does really good work so it is important to get it some publicity.”

People who missed the chance to explore her garden today (Sunday, March 16) can visit her home at 15 Manor Drive, Hilton, near Yarm, on Wednesday 19, Sunday 23 or Wednesday 26, between 1pm and 6pm.
