MUSEUM visitors were taken back to the fashions of the First World War in a performance focused on women’s experiences.
Women and the Great War is the latest production by The History Wardrobe - a performance group that brings history to life through costume - and was performed at Darlington’s Head of Steam railway museum throughout today (Sunday, March 16).
The show focuses on the social upheaval caused during the Great War and the new opportunities and freedoms it brought to many women, all of which had a dramatic impact on fashions.
