UNSUNG heroes who give their time for free to help Darlington Police have been recognised at an awards ceremony.
The annual Volunteer and Specials Awards ceremony took place this week at Durham Constabulary’s headquarters in Aykley Heads, Durham.
The overall winner on the night was Adam Peacock who scooped the Volunteer of the Year award.
Mr Peacock was praised for the work he has done for the Darlington Safer Neighbourhoods Unit (SNU) including working on StaySafe operations, volunteering in the custody suite at Darlington station and helping with the police cadet scheme.
The runner up was Shally Sharma who also volunteers in the SNU, while North Road Beat team volunteer Tomasz Fladro received a commendation.
