ORGANISERS are urging as many people as possible to get involved the Sport Relief Mile in Richmond.

Hundreds of people from across the district have signed up to run or walk one, three or six miles, starting from the disused railway line outside Richmond Swimming Pool on Sunday, March 23.

Matt Prosser from Richmondshire Leisure Trust said: “We are delighted that so many people have already signed up but we want even more people in Richmond, Catterick, Colburn, Leyburn and all the surrounding villages to take part and make it the best Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile yet.”

It will be the second time the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile has come to Richmond.

Mr Prosser added: "There will be plenty of activities on the day so don't forget to rope in your mates, family and colleagues, too.

"In 2012, we had more than 300 participants, and this year we want even more of you to get involved."

The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help people living tough lives, both in the UK and across the world.
