A NEW book containing details of walks in rural County Durham has been launched.

North-East author Keven Shevels has released Walking In Teesdale, published by Darlington-based Trailguides Publications, which contains nine new self-guided walks through the area.

The book is available to buy online from trailguides.co.uk or from local book shops and Tourist Information Centres.

COMEDY THEATRE: The Witham, in Barnard Castle, and the town’s Funny Way To Be comedy club, have teamed up to present the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged), at The Witham, on Saturday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. The company’s style is described as combining physical and verbal humour, performing improvisational condensations of important topics. Tickets cost £14 or £12 for concessions. ANTIQUES BAZAAR: An antiques bazaar with BBC TV expert David Harper takes place at The Witham, in Barnard Castle, on Saturday, from 11am to 1pm. Visitors can bring items to be appraised and valued, which can be left to sell at specialist auctions. There will be no antiques available for purchase. Free entry.
