A care home will be relaunched at the end of the month after being taken over by Roseberry Care Centres.

The Lakeside Care Centre in Hammond Drive will be renamed the South Park Care Centre during an open afternoon on March 28 at a ceremony led by Darlington Mayor Coun Charles Johnson.

Roseberry Care Centres are a North East-based care home group and already own 20 homes across the region.

The open day starts at 2pm and all are welcome.

SMOOTH TUNES: Four piece band TC and the Moneymakers are performing at The Forum on Friday at an event organised by Darlington R&B Club.

Tickets cost £8 and doors open at 7.30pm.

WAR WOMEN: Historical group The History Wardrobe will be at the Head of Steam museum on Sunday to perform its newest performance 'Women and the Great War'.

Performances will take place throughout the day and tickets cost £8, including entry into the museum and tea or coffee.
