Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was spat at in the face as he travelled along a cycle path between Faverdale Industrial Estate and West Auckland Rd.

The suspect is described as around 6ft tall, of medium build and was wearing a black beanie hat, a green camouflage jacket and dark trousers.

He was walking two grey lurcher type dogs and was aggressive towards the cyclist during the incident which happened around 10pm on Wednesday.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.

HAPPY HOME: A Darlington care home has been given the seal of approval after 100 per cent of residents who responded to a survey rated it as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.

The results followed an annual independent survey of residents at Bupa’s St William’s Residential Home on Cornwall Avenue.
