A CUTE canine companion is proving priceless in helping sell antiques when they go under the hammer.
Dede (CORR), the eight-year-old Jackadoodle – a Jack Russell and poodle cross – has become a firm favourite with customers visiting Addison’s Auctioneers, in Barnard Castle.
Her owner, Richard Edwards, the saleroom manager, noticed the dog had sneaked into a copper log bin while photographs were being taken for the company’s quarterly sale and decided to feature her in the catalogue.
She also sat in an Edwardian baby’s cot to help show the item’s size.
Mr Edwards said he was “lucky” to be able to take Dede to work with him every day and added: “The dealers love her and often bring her biscuits.”
The spring catalogue sale takes place on Saturday, at 10am.
