THIEVES forced their way into Harpers Newsagents at Commercial Terrace in Trimdon Colliery, near Sedgefield, and stole cash and cigarettes. The incident occurred between 7.15pm on Tuesday, February 25, and 5am the following day. Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 0040. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.

FARMERS MARKET: A monthly farmers market will take place on the green at Sedgefield in County Durham from 9.30am on Sunday, March 2.
