SHOP THEFT A Darlington man told a judge that he stole a camera from Boots because the opportunity presented itself. Richard Allan Bowles, 33, pleaded guilty to stealing the £179.99 camera at Darlington Magistrates Court and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £15. Bowles – of Montrose Street – said he had acted on the spur of the moment.
