THE Friends of Redcar Cemetery is organising a fundraiser after securing a special charity performance by the Cutty Wren Folk Club at the Redcar Bowling Club.

The event takes place on Tuesday, February 18, from 8pm until 11pm, and entry costs £2.

Vince Parker who wrote a song for the Friends to remember local woman Margaret Emmans, who lost her life in a life boat incident in the 1920s, will be performing that night.

All proceeds will be given to the Friends who plan to use it for the planting of perennials in the large tubs in the new cremation area.
