AN evening of comedy, burlesque and comedy in aid of the British Heart Foundation will be held at Cockerton Club on Saturday, March 8.

The event will feature four acoustic musicians, as well as burlesque dancers and drag act Sateen Sheets as the compere.

There will be a raffle, with a top prize of a night at the Wensleydale Heifer, near Leyburn. The prize inclues dinner and breakfast.

Tickets, priced £6, are available from the charity’s shop in Post House Wynd, from the venue, or from Good Vibrations in Cockerton.

BIG BAND: An evening of big band music, featuring the Hurworth Swing Band, will be held at Hurworth Grange Community Centre, on Friday (February 14), at 7pm. There will be a pie and peas supper. Admission costs £5.

MUSIC NIGHT: The Sans Pareil singers is presenting its anniversary concert at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 26, at All Saints Church, in Hurworth. SPORT RELIEF: Darlington runners can take part in the Sport Relief mile, on Sunday, March 23, setting off from the clock tower in South Park at 10.30am. JAZZ SHOWS: The Mark Toomey quartet will perform for members of Opus 4 Jazz Club, at the Travellers Rest, in Cockerton, on Friday (February 14). Doors open at 8pm for an 8.30pm start.
