RICHMONDSHIRE Acoustic charity evenings raised about £687 for local charities during 2013.
Richmondshire district councillor and member of the music group Paul Cullen has this month handed over a cheque for £587.50 to Michael Walton, chairman of the Friends of the Beacon in Catterick Garrison which supports homeless veterans.
The other £100 raised was split between St Teresa’s Hospice, Marie Curie and MacMillan Nurses.
The acoustic evenings took place at a number of pubs in Richmondshire with about 15 musicians performing.
CANCER SUPPORT: The next monthly drop-in for breast cancer patients will be held on Monday, March 3 from 10am to noon in the outpatients department at the Duchess of Kent Hospital, Catterick Garrison. Patients in the local community can call in to see one of the Friarage Hospital’s specialist nurses in breast care, Judith Curtis and Louise Sadler, who will provide support and answer questions about breast health and the fitting of bras and prosthetics in a welcoming setting.
