AN appeal for witnesses has been made after a six-year-old boy suffered a broken leg when he was in collision with a car.

The incident happened on Falmouth Street in Middlesbrough at about 4pm on Thursday, February 6, involving a child and a silver Toyota Avensis.

The boy was taken to the town’s James Cook University Hospital with a broken leg and bruising.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact PC Jayson Morris from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting event number 020204.

ROAD SAFETY: Work is being carried out on two roads in Hartlepool to reduce traffic speeds and improve safety. Local safety schemes are being implemented by Hartlepool Borough Council on Throston Grange Lane and Rossmere Way. The works are being paid for via the authority’s Government-funded Local Transport Plan at a combined cost of around £115,000.
