HEALTH chiefs are calling on local people to get involved in plans for future health and social care services.

The NHS Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group is now working on practical plans for the next five years.

Using local evidence and feedback from discussions with patients, the public, partners and healthcare providers, it hopes to develop priorities around how it will continue to transform and continuously improve healthcare services.

Chief operating officer Rachel Potts said: “Involving the public and patients in the decision-making process features strongly in our planning and commissioning local healthcare services.”

She added: “The CCG has arranged significant and meaningful public involvement events which will pave the way for open and honest discussions, helping to plan for the future."

The events include a public meeting at the Galtres Centre in Easingwold on March 6 at 2pm and at City of York Council’s West Offices on March 4 at 4.30pm.
