MURMURATIONS - or the patterns made in the sky by swooping starlings - are one of the wonders of the natural world.
Tim Dixon, of Bedale, North Yorkshire took these photos at 5.15pm on Tuesday.
"I was having a break from work and just started walking up the road when I saw this flock of starlings doing a murmuration, which I hadn't seen before, so I went back for my camera and called for my Mum, Dot, to get the car," he said.
"We followed them to where they were over the A1(M) and B6055 next to the A1(M) at Leeming Bar before they landed in one of the 'balancing ponds' next to the A1(M)."
