A MAN who admitted carrying a kitchen knife in the street in what his barrister called a “moment of madness” has been warned he is likely to face jail.
Michael Sinclair pleaded guilty at Teesside Crown Court to having such a blade on Stockton Road, Darlington, on January 2 this year.
He also admitted attempting to rob another man on the same date. Sinclair, 34, of Haughton Green, Darlington also admitted possession of a small amount of cannabis and cocaine, again on January 2, following his arrest by police.
David Lamb, for Sinclair, said he had acted out of character in a moment of madness.
The case was adjourned for sentence on February 21 and Sinclair remanded in custody.
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton said he would be given credit for his guilty pleas, but warned that adjourning the case should not give him the view that anything other than custody was inevitable.
