A MAN convicted of affray after a violent incident has succeeded in having a night-time curfew imposed on him relaxed after a court heard he was unable to assist with his father's business.
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, agreed to relax the three month-long curfew on Tyrone Crow, so he is able to leave his home on Fridays and Saturdays.
Crow, a bar worker, works for his father who runs a hotel and nightclub in Northallerton.
His barrister Michael Bosomworth had told Teesside Crown Court: “It is not as if the defendant is seeking to go out clubbing himself or leave the area and go away on weekends.”
The 27-year-old, of High Street, Northallerton, was said to be doing well by the probation service which was supervising him following his conviction.
Judge Bourne-Arton said he would relax the curfew on Fridays and Saturdays, but as a “quid pro quo” Crow would do another 40 hours unpaid work on top of that he had previously been given.
