‘BREW with a Bobby’ drop in sessions have been organised in an east Cleveland community.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) has set up the sessions where people can tell police about crimes and other problems over a cup of tea at Lingdale Youth Centre at Lingdale, near Saltburn.

The initiative has been sponsored by the Coast & Country Housing Association and it’s hoped that if it is successful it can be launched in other centres over the coming months.

PCSO Payne said: “We are looking forward to working with Clare Taylor from Coast & Country Housing, who are kindly providing the refreshments, and we hope to have other groups join us in the coming months. That way residents will have access to a wide range of local agencies that can help us reach out to the more isolated members of our community.

“The scheme will also allow us to introduce ourselves to residents in an informal and relaxed setting whereby they can tell us about any concerns they have regarding their areas and we can then set our ward priorities.”
