SIX talented youngsters are looking forward to performing with the Russian State Ballet and Opera House.

The children will perform Carmen with the company at Darlington Civic Theatre, on Tuesday, February 11.

They are Isaac Tallantire, 12, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, 11-year-olds Joe Locker, from Ingleby Barwick, Victoria Ward, from Darlington, Sally Cresser, from Newton Aycliffe, Ryan Gibson, from Ingleby Barwick and Emelia Boyle, from Hurworth.

Producer, Alexej Ignatow said: "Our long-term project is to try hard to involve more local choirs, and to integrate them in our future productions.

“We have offered the opportunity to six children to sing in our new opera production of Carmen, and we are delighted that children from Darlington Stagecoach Theatre Arts School are to take part.”

Carmen is an Opera in four acts by a French composer Georges Bizet, which has become one of the best-known plots with the most memorable music.

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will also perform La Traviata on Wednesday 12 February at 7.30pm.

Carmen and La Traviata, two most popular and accessible operas, have captured the imagination of many generations over the years and continue to attract and inspire all age groups worldwide.
