ANIMAL-loving residents at a Catterick Garrison nursing home were treated to a special performance from some well-trained dogs as part of an animal therapy session at the home.
Residents at Rosedale Nursing Home, which provides residential and nursing care, as well as catering for those with dementia, welcomed the canine performers today(Tuesday, January 28).
The dancing pups and trainer Heather Stevens from behavioural and training specialists wetrainanydog.com were a huge hit with the residents who enjoyed petting the dogs before sitting down to enjoy the show.
Anna Masheter, home manager at Rosedale, said: “Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit from Heather and her dogs.
"Our animal therapy sessions are always really popular with our residents.”
She added: “Our residents are big animal lovers, we even have our own pet guinea pigs and rabbits at Rosedale. The residents enjoy taking care of them and it helps to promote their independence.”
Ms Stevens is a master trainer member of the Guild of Dog Trainers and a full member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association.
