TRAINEES from a business which provides work for adults with learning difficulties have helped raise nearly £2,000 from a pantomime.
Northdale Horticulture, based in Northallerton, staged its sixth annual pantomime recently, Dick Weedington and His Cat, with two performances at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Northallerton.
Northallerton Rotary Club helped fund the venue, assisted backstage, made refreshments and visited local businesses to gather raffle prizes, while Brompton Players loaned costumes to the group for their performance.
As a result, Northdale Horticulture, which provides work-based training for adults with disabilities, was able to raise £1,812 from its production.
Centre manager Simon Cross said, “It has become a highlight in the Northdale annual calendar for trainees and audiences alike. It is a true celebration of our trainees’ unique talents and helps brings the community together.”
