ANTI-cuts group Teesside Solidarity Movement (TSM) will take part in planned protests at Thornaby’s ATOS office next month.

The group will be part of a larger national movement that aims to take action against ATOS, a multinational company contracted by the Department for Work and Pensions to conduct work capability assessments that determine disabled people’s eligibility for benefits.

Jolande Mace, spokesperson for TSM, said: "We're organising this action because we feel someone needs to stand up to these policies and say “no more”. It is a show of solidarity to people who are sick or have disabilities across Teesside, as well as nationally. It is about time that ATOS started to give “A-TOS(s)”.

The protest will take place at 11am at the ATOS Assessment Centre in Thornaby on February 19.
