A MENTAL health patient, missing from a hospital near Darlington since early January, has been found safe in Scotland.

Robert Brown, 29 was reported missing by staff at the Priory Hospital in Middleton-St-George on January 2 amid concerns that without his regular medication his behaviour could be erratic and he might be at risk.

A few days ago police received information suggesting Mr Brown might be at an address in the Glasgow area and officers located him, apparently fit and well.

He was then detained under the Mental Health Act so that he could be properly assessed and brought back to the hospital.

Durham Police wished to thank the public who shared their earlier appeal and circulated Mr Brown’s photo.
