A MAN has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent following an assault outside a pub on Boxing Day.

Tyler John Willmott, of Chaytor Terrace, Fishburn, County Durham, is alleged to have assaulted a 22-year-old man outside the Black Lion pub, in Sedgefield, at around 7pm.

Mr Willmott, 26, did not enter a plea when he appeared before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe today (Friday, January 24).

The case was committed to Durham Crown Court.

Mr Willmott’s application for bail was refused and he will remain in custody until Friday, February 7, when a case management hearing will take place.
