POLICE hunting Ricky Darren Beech, who absconded from Kirklevington Grange Prison in Yarm on Thursday evening, have made an arrest.
Beech is serving an indeterminate sentence for a 2006 armed robbery at a petrol station in Hull, in which he assaulted a shop assistant.
Beech, who absconded between 4.45pm and 7.50pm, was jailed in 2008.
He is described as white, with dark hair and a beard, five foot nine inches tall, with brown eyes and two scars above his left eye. He has an England tattoo on the left hand side of his chest.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Police searching for 29-year-old absconder Ricky Beech have arrested a 29-year-old man in Eaglescliffe on suspicion of escaping lawful custody."
