Visual audit discovers dog fouling and obstructive parking

VISUAL AUDIT A visual audit by Darlington PCSOs in the Harrowgate Hill area on Thursday January 2 highlighted issues such as dog fouling, obstructive parking at the Leas junction and the running of red lights on Thompson Street East. Evidence of fly tipping was also discovered. Further action on these matters will be undertaken.

JAM SESSION A jam session featuring live music from saxophonist Bill Goyder and a jam and preserves stall will raise money for St Cuthbert’s Church on Saturday January 18. The event takes place at Dalkeith House on Tees Grange Avenue, Darlington from 2.30pm until 4.30pm.

NORDIC WALKING Nordic Walking sessions, which involve walking with poles, will be led by experienced instructors in Darlington this week. Sessions will run from the South Park clock tower on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am until 11am and on Saturday at various locations from 9.15am until 10.15am. Sessions cost £2.50 and poles are provided. Booking is essential. Call 01325-254370.

STROKE REHAB Stroke sufferers are invited to join an Exercise after Stroke rehabilitation programme at Darlington’s Eastbourne Sports Complex. The group based exercise classes take place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm. Sessions are £2 and those interested can be referred by a medical professional. BURNS NIGHT Live folk music will take centre stage at the Tich Frier Burns Night, hosted by the Copper Beech pub on Neasham Road in Darlington on Thursday January 23. The event begins at 8pm.
